Why We Started
We started Poems India in 2018 because we noticed something: there were good writers scattered across social media who weren't getting the attention their work deserved.
People were reading the same few writers they already knew, missing out on voices they'd probably love if they could find them.
So we built a place where those writers could share their work and where readers could discover them. Not just poetry—though that's our main focus—but also essays, fiction, book reviews, and writing about films worth talking about.

Quality Publishing
We publish writing that feels real and thoughtful. Our submissions are open year-round because good work comes when it comes.
"The Stage is Yours"
'The Stage is Yours', where the choicest pieces of art are performed and rejoiced with a vast set of audience. We also invite submissions for our Instagram page which has evolved into a colossal family of creative minds, as well as our furnished website—a walk-in museum of priceless literature—our purpose only to find and publish what speaks the honest language of art and poetry.

National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo)
Every April, we host our National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo) challenge, where participants attempt to write a poem each day for the entire month. It's a collaborative effort that fosters creativity, builds writing practice, and connects our community of poets.
We provide daily prompts and themes, and while poems don't need to be literal interpretations, they should relate to the prompt. We curate and publish select poems from submissions, showcasing the incredible creativity of our participants.

What's Coming
We're launching a new website that will make everything work better. Writers will be able to see where their submissions are in our process. Readers will find it easier to browse through what we've published and discover poets they haven't read before.
We're also building an archive of contemporary Indian poetry—a place where the poems being written now can be found by people reading years from now.

There's good writing happening everywhere, but it's often hard to find. We try to be the place where writers who care about their craft can find readers who care about good writing.
